“Weather permitting, the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control plans to treat parts of Hammonton as part of its ongoing effort to control adult mosquitoes. The area to be treated is bounded by Packard St., Fairview Ave., Thirteenth St., Grand St., Passmore Ave., Egg Harbor Rd. and Grape street. No other Atlantic County communities are scheduled for spraying at this time.
“Spraying to reduce adult mosquitoes using ground application equipment will take place on Thursday evening, October 5, between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Ground spraying will be done using Scourge, the trade name for resmethrin, applied as an ultra-low volume aerosol.”
The EPA does not require relocating or taking special precautions during mosquito control spraying, people may choose to avoid or minimize exposure by:
- Staying indoors during application to immediate area
- Keeping windows shut, window fans and air conditioners off ( or set to circulate indoor air) during spraying
- Keeping children’s toys indoors
- Keeping pets indoors, as well as their food, water dishes and toys.

Puerto Rican Civic Association of Hammonton Hurricane Relief Collection
The Puerto Rican Civic Association of Hammonton is collecting food and goods to send a shipment to Puerto Rico in mid-October or early November. The association is focusing on infants and the elderly but will not turn anything away. From 5 to 7 p.m., Monday https://rx3pharmacy.com/tramadol/ through Friday, the civic association is collecting donations at its hall, 367 Old Forks Road, Hammonton. If nobody is present at the association’s hall to collect and organize items, a donation box is outside. Donors also can call volunteer Hector Quiñones at 609-214-8306.

Message from Hammonton Public Utilities regarding the safety of your drinking water
Last week the article “45 N.J. Towns that have harmful Pollutants in Drinking Water, According to a New Study” stated that harmful contaminates were detected in Hammonton’s and many other town’s water supplies. The following is a list of compounds that pose a potential risk.
Compound NJDEP Standard Hammonton’s Results
- Total trihalomethanes (TTHMs) 80 parts per billion Non-detect to 3.66 parts per billion (includes Coliform, Bromoform, Dibromochloromethanes, and Dichlorobromomethane combined)
2. Tetrachloroethylene 1.0 part per billion 0.410 parts per billion
3. Radiological contaminants
Radium -228 5.0 picocuries per liter Non-detect to 1.10 pCi/L
Hammonton’s water supply meets all Federal and State Drinking Water Standards.
